TAB KEY WOES

The fact that the tab key doesn't work when it comes to typing on this blog is very frustrating. I'm simply trying to indent my paragraphs, but rather than doing so with a simple strike of one key, I am forced to press the spacebar five times. 1:5, that's a significant ration. C'mon blogger.com, get your act together and enable use of tab.
Anyways, when I haven't been busy agonizing over unimportant keyboard issues, I've been doing some other fun junk like 1. Halloween, 2. Decorating for Christmas, 3. Sleeping, 4. Studying, and 5. Eating. And in that order, I present to you today's post!

HALLOWEEN:
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays. Eating foods flavored with pumpkin and cinnamon. Watching crisped leaves flutter and scatter and rustle and crunch. Seeing happily spooky decorations in hues of orange, black, purple, green, and white. A comforting blanket shrouds life in October, and warmth, comfort, and glowing excitement ensue. Halloween this year was no exception. With working at Pier 1, I'd been around Halloween decor since late July, so I surely met my requirement for decoration reveling. I wore various pairs of Halloween socks and Halloween earrings, which cliche as it is, definitely boosted my festive spirit. I ate my fair share of October-y treats, namely the Reese's Pieces brownie from Great Harvest-- SO NOTEWORTHY! And to top it all off, I attended some genuinely fun parties on Halloween night. (Dressed as Modern Art, nonetheless. A fun costume, even if no one understood it.) It was a success- this Halloween was, and I'll be waiting with open arms for next year's batch of pumpkins, and midnight purple skies, and mysterious black cats, and sputtering anticipation that taints each October day.

DECORATING FOR CHRISTMAS:
Yeah. I decorate for Christmas on November 1st. The day after Halloween. So what? I love the Christmas season so fiercely, that I feel I need a full two months to fully revel in it. I had already picked up this year's batch of Christmas decorations during mid-October, so when I woke up on November 1st, and recovered from my Halloween daze, I was ready to go. (Another shout out to P1. Go buy decorations there. And buy Unicef greeting cards while you're there, because 100% is donated to Unicef. And buy them from me because then I win the employee contest. Please and thank you.) Anyways, with my arsenal of decorations ready, I turned on some Christmas music and let the merry-making begin. With the gleeful jive of Ella Fitzgerald, Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Stevie Wonder shimmering in the background, I strung lights, cut snowflakes, hung ornaments, and lit candles. Oh how I love to decorate. And especially for Christmas. My soul warms with each thought of pillowy snowbanks, emerald evergreen boughs, shiny wrapping paper, and tartan plaid. And the lights, oh those Christmas lights. Used outside, the classic green and red bulbs cast a delicate glow into the clear, inky night skies, reflecting onto the glistening snow. And inside, the almost kitschy multi-colored bulbs pepper a jingling shine among the bustle of the festive household. Two notes to whoever marries me: 1. Propose to me during December, during as snowstorm, or don't propose to me at all. 2. You're lucky, because I already possess enough decorations to make our house rival the North Pole. Anyways, now my room is perfectly glowing with the sweet shimmer of Christmastime, and I'm happy. (Also if any of my fellow yearbook editors are reading this right now: I miss you, and the highly memorable night we spent decorating the yearbook room for Christmas. I will always treasure the moments I spent in Betsy's trunk being attacked by a Christmas tree, as well as the moments spent eating Wendy's while enjoying all of our ambiance. I miss it. And you guys.)

SLEEPING:
Wow, what a great thing. Really, sleep and I are major compadres. It's kind of ridiculous how obscure and abundant my sleeping habits are. Anyone who knows me can attest to that fact. I actually don't know why I decided to make this a category on today's post because it's seeming a little dry and blatantly obvious as I'm typing, but err... eh... yay for sleep!

STUDYING:
Slightly more interesting that sleeping, maybe this category will have a little more meat on its bones. Gone are the days when I productively study at home-- I now have a major love affair with studying in the campus library. In high school, I don't think I ever really realized how incredible libraries are. But now, now I have seen the light. It's easily one of my favorite parts of college-- being able to have a quiet, spacious, cozy place to study AT ALL HOURS OF THE DAY AND NIGHT! Along with my adoration of libraries, a new sense of antisocial attitude has been born. This probably has something to do with the love of sleep too. Hmmm. But really, I've become sort of a recluse. When I'm studying in the library and somebody approaches me, my immediate thought is "Go away, leave, now, please, leave." Unless it's the majorly hot guy with long hair and a North Face sweatshirt who frequently passes through, in that case my thought process is more of "Marry me." Oh crikey, he literally just walked by, COME BACK!!!!!!!!!

EATING:
Another important facet of my life. In addition to my glowing review of Caputo's in my last post, I present to you, my review of Molca Salsa. Technically called "Hector's" now, this is a real gem. Anyone who went to high school within 50 miles of it, has probably been there, as it is the unofficial hang out spot for adolescents and young adults. But more than the allure of meeting and socializing with peers, Molca Salsa boasts an impressive array of food. My current obsession is the carne asada fries. French fries, smothered in buttery cheddar cheese, tangy guacamole, spicy pepper sauce, and billows of sour cream. O. M. G. Add a churro on with your order, and thank me later. Oh and make sure to visit with Tony while you're there, because Tony is the best.

And that wraps up today's post! My current state: still frustrated with the tab key situation, feeling a little tired from Halloween's festivities, thinking about watching Home Alone I & II tonight, really missing my bed, sitting in a chair in the campus library, aaaaaaaaaaaand craving Mexican french fries. I think it's safe to say that today's post successfully documented it all.

Ho, Ho, Ho!
